Third Party Policy (Google Ads)

Google’s third party policy governs agencies, consultants, and anyone managing Google Ads on behalf of clients. Updated in November 2024, the policy now includes severe penalties for third parties that enable significant or sustained policy violations, including immediate ads account suspension without warning, removal from Google Partners program, and loss of privileges.

As of June 2025, if your individual Google Ads account is linked to a manager account violating the third party policy, your account can be paused too. You’ll need to unlink from the violating manager account to resume serving ads. This policy makes agencies directly responsible for their clients’ compliance.

Example: A digital marketing agency doesn’t provide the level of reporting to their clients that Google requires they provide, and is banned from Google for that reason.
