Ad Disapproval on Google Ads
Last Updated on: October 16, 2025
Ad disapprovals happen when Google’s review system determines that a specific ad violates their advertising policies, preventing it from being shown to users. Unlike account suspensions, disapprovals affect individual ads and can often be resolved by simply editing the ad content. Common reasons include prohibited content, misleading claims, or formatting issues (like excessive use of caps) that don’t comply with Google’s Ads policies.
Example: An ad is disapproved for making unsubstantiated health claims, but can be resubmitted after removing the problematic language and providing appropriate disclaimer.
