Exceeded Retry-Limit
Exceeded retry-limit is an error message that appears when advertisers attempt to verify their account or appeal a suspension too many times without success. This limit applies to multiple scenarios across Google Ads. For advertiser identity verification specifically, Google allows only 3 attempts to verify your identity… so if you fail all 3 attempts or provide false information repeatedly, you lose the ability to appeal your suspension and your account remains permanently suspended.
The exceeded retry-limit error can also apply to repeated failed appeal attempts for policy violations, though the specific number of allowed attempts may vary by suspension type. Once you’ve exceeded the retry limit, Google’s systems automatically block further attempts, and there’s typically no manual override available. This is why getting your documentation and appeals right the first time is critical.
Example: An advertiser fails advertiser identity verification three times by submitting unclear or mismatched documents, and after the third failed attempt, receives an ‘exceeded retry-limit’ message blocking any further verification attempts and keeping their Google Ads account suspended indefinitely.
